First video I made about regional road 130 was published over 2 and half years ago, in summer 2022. It took me another 2 years to drive it fully back to back.
Finnish regional road 130 runs from Vantaa to Tampere via Hyvinkää, Riihimäki, Hämeenlinna, and Valkeakoski. It's a significant route that connects these key cities and serves as an alternative to the national highway 3.
Regional road 130 is largely the former main road 3, built in the 1950s and 1960s, between Helsinki and Tampere. Inside Ring III, the road is now under the current main road 3, and it starts from Vantaankoski at Ring III. There are plans to decommission the road as a highway between Ring III and Kivistö, making it a street maintained by the city of Vantaa.
